Baptist’s Draw was an incredibly beautiful canyon. There were three rappels, but we missed the 3rd. Technically speaking, it was relatively simple. The two rappels were about as technical as it got (oh yeah, there was another part that was moderately technical…but that was only because we didn’t want to get wet…we body-walked).
The weather was great. It was a cool end-of-October day, and as you will see, the few potholes that we encountered were topped with small sheets of ice. On our way to the trailhead we spotted a few wild horses, some jack rabbits, and a coyote.
Those man enough to take on this adventure were Kim Robinson, Steve Marsh, Tim Willard, Michael Crouch, and Shane Willard.
Enjoy the pics. If you click on them you will be able to see the originals.

Steve found a rabbit skull on the trail.

About 400 yards down-trail Steve found what looks to be a facial bone from the SAME rabbit.

Kim’s first ever rappel. OK, so this isn’t a picture of the actual rappel. He was “prepping” in this picture.

Watch out. That first step’s a dousy.

Smile Kim, you’re half-way down.

Our only real challenge (and it was only challenging cuz we didn’t want to get wet).
