First Official Blog – The Preface

Friday, June 1st, 2007

I have been contemplating entering the realm of blogging for quite some time now. It seems that if you are not careful the habit can become very consuming, and for this reason I have hesitated. However, this will be my first official weblog, and there will be many more to come. I have chosen to begin my voyage into cyber-”journal”-ism for the main purpose of keeping a detailed log or journal of my life. This medium seems to suit me, as I enjoy the speed and legibility of my typing versus the lack of speed and legibility of my handwriting.

The scary part about having your thoughts, feelings, and opinions available for the world to see is that they could easily be read by unwelcomed readers. Having said this, I will try to be extremely personal, as this whole thing really is for ME, yet my thoughts and feelings will likely be somewhat filtered at times.

For the record: My name is William Shane Willard. I was born in March of 1980. I am married and have been since February 7th, 2002. My wife is Kelli (Murdock) Willard. At the time of this post, we have two beautiful children, Boston and Luci. We live in Kaysville, Utah.

I am an entrepreneur. I love business. I have been a part of several startups over the last few years, and real estate has made me the most amount of money, so I have stuck with it. I love the excitement and adventure involved with entrepreneurism. I will always be looking forward to my next new adventure.

I am LDS. My beliefs are summarized in The Articles of Faith. I served a two-year mission in South Texas for the purpose of sharing my beliefs with others. I had to learn Spanish to do this, and I am very glad to speak the language fluently. I enjoyed priceless relationships with countless people. I will never forget the many people that touched my life while I was in South Texas.

My life has been blessed by about as much fortune as one life could be. I have my health, a beautiful wife, wonderful kids, a great occupation, a fabulous family, and the ability to succeed at whatever I put my mind to. Life is a fun game to me. I try to play it wisely, and I have a heck of a time doing it.
Here we go.
